SJT Wire is used by people who are doing their own wiring, and can be hard-wired to a number of different appliances and cords (with the correct voltage). Hard Wire is made from plastic and is a firmer wire with a shiny exterior. Soft Wire is made from rubber and is a softer wire with a dull exterior.
